E-Zine: "Unfiltered", Cyclista Zine 4

$7.00

Our fifth issue, “EmoDIY Disruption”, shares essays, visual art, photography, thoughts, poetry, rants, stories, how-to’s, and doodles all related to themes of ‘emboDIY disruption’ in cycling. We share perspectives by and for cycling advocates on the applications of disruption and do-it-yourself within spaces and activism.

This issue centers around stories of diy activism as a method for supporting community or disrupting the status quo with bikes. Our contributors share how they have cultivated a women’s bike community with in a war torn country, created safer spaces for FTW’s (femme, trans, women), reuse bike parts for art and storytelling, use tactical urbanism to create safer streets, disrupt toxic masculinity in the outdoors, disrupted harmful colonial narratives in the outdoors, bike toured to fundraise for Land Back, bike deliver Narcan to save lives, and how to sustain activism.

To 'disrupt' refers to altering a course of action, system or structure. This issue uses 'emboDIY' as the do-it-yourself application and capacity to live or apply disruption using our intersecting identities within spaces. Embody is to represent (something) in a clear and obvious way : to be a symbol or example of (something) formal: to include (something) as a part or feature.

We hope this zine will give you the tool kit you need to disrupt and sustain long lasting activism within cycling.

25% of proceeds go to the Support Evacuation and Resettlement for Afghan Cyclist fund.
